Reduce Building Costs

Aesthetically designed for new or retrofit construction, Star Seismic braces exceed seismic codes and reduce building costs by $2.40 per square foot.

Frame-building Savings

Because Star Seismic's codified bracing system incorporates high seismic response factors, your building can be designed for lower force levels, saving time on columns, foundations, beams, drag struts, connections and labor. Fewer seismic frames and reduction in the size and gusset plates mean less weld and more material savings.

Connection Savings

By incorporating a patented collar system, no stiffeners are required in the gusset. Proprietary in design, Star Seismic's pinned and welded connections save money and time on building erection. Our erection-friendly designs result in reduced crane time, general conditions and potential early revenue generation for the project owner.

After-earthquake Savings & Analysis

When seismic energy is dissipated throughout a Star Seismic BRB system, deformation to beams and columns is minimized, plus Star Seismic's BRB's are easier to replace if necessary. That means less damage to floors, walls, partitions and other non-structural elements.

Post Seismic Analysis

After an earthquake, a post seismic analysis may be performed on Star Seismic braces to review if they can withstand another event. If a brace is damaged from inelastic deformations during a seismic or other event, Star Seismic braces are significantly easier and less expensive to replace than a frame beam. The result is a testable system with reduced replacement cost.
